VHS Viper 2024 March -A-Thon

The Vandegrift band played 13 concerts during the 2024 March-A-Thon fundraiser in Steiner Ranch. The 340 Viper Band and Vision Dance Company students marched more than 2 miles on August 3, raising nearly $60,000.

The band played “Viper Groove,” “Metal Shop” and “Viper Fight Song” – all VHS originals. The band also played “Any Way You Want It” by Journey, “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga, “Hey Baby” by Bruce Channel, and “Hush” by Deep Purple.

There were nine concerts at homes in the John Simpson Park area. One of the concerts included an 8-year-old boy, Paxton, who the band sang “Happy Birthday” to. One concert was for two band students in 6th grade at Canyon Ridge Middle School who will be future Viper band members. Several of the concerts were for graduating seniors, and two concerts were for families who no longer have band students, but who have supported March-A-Thon concerts since the very first march.

More than 70 parent volunteers from the boosters helped make this event happen.

“It was 100% a team effort, from logistics, to hydration, to the parents who brought hundreds of bags of frozen grapes to provide cold snacks for the hard working students,” shared Adam Plummer, March-A-Thon lead along with Ivonne Mercado.
