Congestion is one of the top issues facing local residents and the Four Points Chamber of Commerce wants to help. The Chamber is teaming with the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization to host a public meeting to get feedback on traffic concerns from Lakeway to Cedar Park, including Four Points.

“We urge our community to get involved and help with building the solution to our area growth and roadway improvements into the future,” said Ray Freer, Chairman of the Four Points Chamber.

The Chamber invites local residents to a CAMPO Mobile Meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at Austin Christian Fellowship Student Center, 6401 River Place Blvd 78730 in River Place.

The Mobile Meeting is one of several ways the public can help planners identify potential future transportation projects in CAMPO’s 2040 Regional Transportation Plan.

Attendees are encouraged to generate ideas, provide feedback and get information, project materials, fact sheets and maps.

“This is one of our opportunities to help shape the solution for our area.  We expect to have an interactive brainstorming session with CAMPO,” Freer said.

CAMPO is the agency that approves the use of federal transportation funds in this region that includes 1.8 million people in Travis, Hays, Williamson, Burnet, Bastrop and Caldwell counties.

CAMPO will soon begin the evaluation process to determine which projects are included in the plan for this region that is projected to have 4.1 million people in 2040.

The CAMPO 2040 Plan Vision is to develop a comprehensive, multimodal, regional transportation system that safely and efficiently addresses mobility needs over time, is economically viable, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable, supports regional quality of life and promotes travel options.

“Do you want to see transportation improvements in Four Points? Our area does not currently have any major improvements included in long term planning, but you can get involved and weigh in on finding a solution,” Freer said.
