The Mansfield event center and the Oasis Texas Brewing Company are opening at Oasis Texas, the highest point on Lake Travis.
The Mansfield is an 800-person capacity event center with nearly 1,600-square-feet of indoor and outdoor event space for weddings, receptions, corporate functions or charitable events.
Oasis Texas Brewing is housed in the Mansfield. The full-scale brewery and taproom also opens this weekend and will serve original beers brewed on-site.
Located at 6550 Comanche Trail #300 where Uncle Billy’’s Brew & Que was, neither the Mansfield nor Oasis Texas Brewing are affiliated with the Oasis Restaurant.

The Mansfield is named after the dam it overlooks and will celebrate its official grand opening this weekend.
Max Schleder, managing partner for the event center, said they’ve already booked several wedding events.
The event center will offer an alternative to the nearby Oasis Restaurant.
“We offer the same view, and everything their location offers, but the flexibility to bring in your own caterer, which I think is a huge advantage,” Schleder said.

Head Brewer Spencer Tielkemeier said the brewery’s slogan is “Session beers for savvy drinkers.” A session beer is a lower-gravity, lower-alcohol beer, somewhere in the 4-5 percent alcohol range.
“What we’re shooting for are really flavorful but really drinkable, dry, crisp beers, suited for Texas summers,” Tielkemeier said. “In terms of beer style, we’re not going to try to out-novelty anybody else. We’re admirers of these really classic styles and we just want to execute them to perfection.”
The brewery’s core three beers will be an American pale ale, a German-style Kellerbier and an English-style Bitter. They are all original recipes developed by Tielkemeier over time and will soon be sold throughout the state.
A recent change in Texas law relating to beer distribution paved the way to opening of Oasis Texas Brewing.
In Texas’ last legislative session, the amending of laws related to beer distribution had a huge influence on the opening of the brewery, Schleder said. Prior to the change, brewers could sell beer on site but they could not distribute it in stores.
“Immediately this brewery had 10 times the value that it did going into the summer,” Schleder said. “That was the catalyst for making this happen. It was a very logical legislative move.”
