Vandegrift sophomore Jordan Mathis placed 7th in the 1600 at the 6A State Track & Field meet on Saturday at the University of Texas with a time of 5:05.45, and Mathis placed 9th in the 3200 with a time of 11:18.44.

“It was great experience for Jordan. She was undefeated until the region meet this year and it was awesome to finally see her run shoulder to shoulder with the best athletes in the state.  She is an amazing competitor and she will be back next year,” said Colin Sully, VHS head cross country coach.  

“Our kids have been working hard all year and it was really to cool to see our team represented at the state level,” Sully said.
