The 10-0 Vandegrift Viper football team beat the 8-2 Bridgeland Bears team from Cypress, Tex. 14-13 at Ed W. Monroe Memorial Stadium on Nov. 15 in the 6A Division II Bi-District playoff game.

“They are a newer school and this is their first time in the playoffs,” said Drew Sanders, Vandegrift head football coach.
This is Bridgeland’s second year varsity program and Sanders said they have had a lot of success so far.
“They are extremely talented on offense and multiple on defense,” Sanders said. “The QB for Bridgeland makes everything go for them. They are a high scoring offense. Defensively the Dline is strong and active inside. The secondary is extremely quick.”
There is no reserved seating or reserved parking since it’s a home playoff game. The community is encouraged to arrive early to grab a preferred seat. Additionally, Viper Walk is at 5:50 p.m.
“We hope all our Viper faithful come out in support,” Sanders said.
