From Travis Co. Sheriff’s Office’s Kristen Dark, Sr. public information officer on June 9:

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 7, 2020, TCSO responded to a 911 call reporting that a swimmer, in distress, in the Jones Brothers Park swimming area had gone under and not resurfaced. Multiple agencies participated in a rescue attempt.

At 12:55 p.m., the rescue efforts shifted to recovery. At 1:37 p.m., the body was recovered by Lake Travis Fire & Rescue in an area 8-10 feet deep.

The body has been positively identified as Santos Ervin Cux-Tacatic, 33, of Austin.

An investigation into the cause and manner of death is being conducted by TCSO and the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
