The Vandegrift Class of 2020 graduated on July 9 in an unforgettable ceremony with proper amounts of social distancing, masking and sanitizing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to the recent guidance by Gov. Greg Abbott, attendance was drastically limited. The Vipers and only a small number of their families could participate in the commencement, which was held outdoors at Gupton Stadium between 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
VHS principal Charlie Little did not hand out diplomas, shake hands or pose for photos like usual. After they picked up their diplomas while in queue, graduates proceeded to the stage where parents were allowed. Parents did get to ceremonially shift the tassel from the right to the left of the cap.
Congratulations Vandegrift Viper Class of 2020 graduates.
