A Stallion through and through, Steiner Ranch Elementary Assistant Principal Britteny Clifford will become the school’s newest principal. The Leander ISD Board of Trustees approved Clifford’s hiring at the Aug. 20 board meeting.
“Britteny is a passionate leader who is dedicated to serving the Steiner Ranch Elementary community,” Leander ISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Ed.D. said. “She believes in empowering students and staff to create learning environments in which all thrive and achieve their full potential. Britteny’s instructional knowledge and coaching experience will only enhance the great things that are already happening at Steiner Ranch Elementary.”
Clifford started her teaching career at SRE. She served for 10 years in the classroom before becoming an instructional coach. In the past few years as assistant principal, Clifford has focused on refining team skills, creating supportive relationships and prioritizing feedback for professional development.
“I am honored that the community and Leander ISD would allow me to serve as principal of Steiner Ranch Elementary,” Clifford said. “For the last 14 years, I have been sincerely dedicated to helping every child achieve and become a leader in their own way. I look forward to collaborating with parents and staff to help students achieve the highest level of excellence.”
Clifford replaces Angela Hodges who was recently named principal of Wiley Middle School.
A graduate from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, Clifford also earned her master’s degree in educational leadership & policy studies from The University of Texas at Arlington.
