The Vandegrift choir students have been competing through the year in a series of virtual auditions. These started on Oct. 17 and culminated at the All-State Area Choir Auditions on Jan. 16. 

According to Michael Zook, VHS director of choirs, there were close to 400 students across the region that competed in the region. Then four separate regions brought their top 5 singers per voice part to compete at the area auditions in January. 

Some of the Viper Choir achievements include: 

       63 Vipers competed in the first round of auditions

       40 Vipers singers made the All-Region Choir

       37 Vipers advanced to the second round of auditions, Pre-Area Auditions

      13 Vipers advanced to the final round of audition, All-State/Area Auditions

       5 Vipers were named as members of the Texas All-State Choir
