Freedom Over Austin — a new event hosted by Austin Baptist Church — is bringing a professional fireworks show to the heart of Four Points.
“(Freedom Over Austin) is an exciting patriotic event designed for the entire community and will offer attractions for all ages,” said Jonathan Spencer, senior pastor at Austin Baptist.
The free, all-American carnival will feature inflatables, train rides, a petting zoo, rock wall, bungee trampoline, live music, and food trucks on site. The event will conclude with a professional fireworks show that will light up the sky.
“ABC wants to offer a free, community-wide event to celebrate our great nation and the freedom that we all get to enjoy,” Spencer said. “Especially after a long and difficult year of isolation, we believe it’s important for the community to rally together to celebrate our liberty.”
On Saturday, July 3, the carnival and attractions will open at 7 p.m. at 7016 Ribelin Ranch Rd. 78750. At 9 p.m. there will be a brief program featuring patriotic music and a prayer, and then the professional fireworks show will begin at 9:15 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
“Feel free to bring your favorite lawn chair or blanket (to enjoy the event),” Spencer added.
Limited parking is available at Austin Baptist, with overflow available at Four Points Middle School and Vandegrift. Buses will offer shuttle service.
