The Steiner Stars Blue and Red swim teams celebrate their 20th anniversary and another successful season in the Northwest Swim Circuit.
Led by Jeff Fellows, Blue head coach, and Tracy Nelson and Diana Aleman, Red co-head coaches, each team competed in five virtual meets held at the Bella Mar pool.
The teams competed against the Balcones Country Club Sharks, Rattan Creek Hurricanes, Georgetown Aquadillos, Forest North Stingrays, Brushy Creek Marlins, and the Anderson Mill Barracudas.
The Steiner Stars Blue, with 169 swimmers, and Red, with 196 swimmers, each concluded their season with a championship meet within their divisions.
During the season, over 100 swimmers earned an event time that equaled or bettered an invitational qualifying standard. These swimmers were invited to swim at the Summer Splash Invitational at Brushy Creek on July 11.
This season 10 new team records were set including one that stood for 12 years.
A total of 365 swimmers ages 5-18 made up the Steiner Stars Red (196) and Blue (169) swim teams this season including 100 brand new swimmers.
The swimmers participated in a life sport that teaches the virtues of sportsmanship, competition, perseverance, and discipline.
Registration for next season will be in April 2022. For more information, go to www.steinerstars.org.
