The Vandegrift Theatre Co. is practicing “Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic” for its October debut.
“I’d describe the show as a fun-filled parody of a certain seven book/eight film series about a certain boy wizard,” said Jeff Davis, VHS theater teacher who is in charge of this production.
“Whether you’re a fan of that series or someone who’s never read the books or seen the movies (you’ve only had 20+ years to do so, but whatever),” Davis said “There’s plenty to enjoy in this heartwarming and hilarious show about the losers and misfits at a Certain School of Magic and Magic.”
The synopsis of “Puffs” is that for seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain wizard school and conquered evil but this is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs… who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.
The Puffs is a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers “who are so lovable and relatable, you’ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along” according to Hollywood Life.
The VHS Theatre Co. show will run Oct. 14, 15, and 16 at 7 p.m., and feature an Oct 16 2 p.m. performance.
