Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a fatal crash on RM 620 in Travis County on January 14.

A 2017 Ford Mustang was traveling north on RM 620. A 2014 Acura LXI was traveling south on RM 620. The Ford drove on the wrong side of the road and struck the Acura. The driver of the Acura, identified as Andrew Sciba, 31, from Cedar Park, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, according to DPS.

Austin-Travis County EMS reported that in addition to the one person who died at the scene, another was taken to the hospital with injuries.

The crash happened near St. Luke’s on the Lake Episcopal Church near 5600 RM 620 at mile post 535, not far from the entrance of Steiner Ranch.

Vandegrift High School notified students and families about the serious car accident around 3:20 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The crash shut down all southbound lanes for some time.
