Lake Travis Fire Rescue firefighters responded to a fire at Los Pinos Mexican Restaurant at Hudson Bend last week on September 14.
“Heavy fire was showing through the roof upon the fire department’s arrival” at 4919 Hudson Bend Rd. at 12:45 a.m., shared Rachel Neutzler, LTFR spokesperson.
Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire. Most of the heat and fire damage was in the attic.
“Estimated property loss: $100,000 plus additional loss $15,000,” Neutzler said. The Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating.
Eight suppression apparatus were used to extinguish the blaze including LTFR’s newest engine – the first working fire it responded to – serving in the role of rapid intervention crew. Firefighters were on the scene for nearly 3 hours.
Los Pinos officials shared a day after the fire: “We are in the workings with the insurance company and once we get clearance we can communicate publicly. Thank you for reaching out.”

The fire department shared “LTFR is heartbroken to see this local business experience a fire loss. They had some of the best breakfast tacos around. Our thoughts are with them as they work to fix the fire damage and re-open.”
