On May 21 an accidental injury accident call came into the Travis County Sheriff’s Office just after 4:30 p.m. after a teenager on an e-bike and a resident collided. Both the woman and the 14-year-old boy were injured.
According to the report by TCSO Deputy Ryan Trammell, the resident was walking southbound on the southbound sidewalk in the 1300 block of North Quinlan Park Road near Bright Sky Overlook. The teen was riding his e-bike on the same sidewalk and direction behind the resident.
“As (the youth) approached (the resident), he slowed to approximately 20 mph. In an attempt to avoid colliding with each other both (the teen) and (the resident) tried to move out of each other’s way, in doing so they both moved the same direction causing them to collide. After colliding with, (the youth) lost control of the e-bike and had a secondary collision with a nearby small tree.”
Both parties only had minor injuries and refused EMS transport to the hospital but the teen’s mother transported him to the emergency room, the TCSO report states.
