Local students of the Lake Travis Team brought home several state championships and top ten individual finishes at the Texas Interscholastic Mountain Bike League State Championships.
They competed at the 13th annual State Championship Race which took place May 12 in Henderson, Tex. There were 55 teams and over 500 athletes and the competition was dominated by Austin area teams and riders.
This year’s championship race was held at 29 Pines, a meticulously crafted course boasting epic flow and over 200 berms, promising an exhilarating experience for participants and spectators alike. The state championships featured athletes from the North and South conferences who competed fiercely for the title of the fastest riders in the state, resulting in intense competition, shared JJ Cawelti, Texas Interscholastic Mountain Bike League director.
