LEEF, Chamber hosts Leander ISD State of the District at VHS   

Vandegrift choir performs at the Leander ISD State of the District of the south hosted by Leander Educational Excellence Foundation and the West Austin Chamber of Commerce in late November at VHS.

Leander Educational Excellence Foundation along with the West Austin Chamber of Commerce hosted the Leander ISD State of the District southern version on November 21 at Vandegrift HS. 

Speakers included LISD Superintendent Bruce Gearing, Four Points Middle School Principal Steve Crawford, FPMS Counselor Tonja Wienck, and two VHS Viper seniors Brooke Boykin, design student, and Lucas Eppele, band member. Additionally Eppele wowed the crowd with his gift of calculating the day of the week a random date lands on with lightning speed. 

Members of the Viper choir also performed at the event. The goal of the State of the District was to strengthen connections between the district, local businesses and community partners, highlighting stories of excellence, collaboration and innovation in LISD.
