Q&A Drew Sanders

Head Football Coach

Vandegrift High School

1) Share how it felt to win on December 14 vs Summer Creek in Waco?

It was an amazing game between two great teams. It was so impressive to see our team find a way to make a few more plays than Summer Creek.  Also really impressed how we kept playing hard when we got down 14 points early.

2) What were a couple of key plays that made the Viper win possible?

The kick off return by Gavin Koester was definitely key.  That got us to settle down and start playing Viper football. But after that it was a total team effort to find a way to stop em and score on that elite defense.  And our special teams were key again .

3) Looking ahead, how are you preparing the team to play Southlake Carroll on December 21?

This team is consistent and preparing to play vs Southlake is no different than any other team. We prepare for every game like it’s the super bowl, so this week is no different. We are excited about the chance to play them, they are a really good team and we will have to bring our “A game” to compete with them.

4) Where can our community see and hear the game on December 21?
