The Vandegrift boys soccer team won the 6A DII State Semifinal game 2-0 vs Strake Jesuit on April 4 in Bryan, Tex. Goals by Jason Panoff and Nabhi Shrimal and a clean sheet by Finn Snyder propelled the boys into the State Championship game on Saturday in Georgetown.
“We know we are playing one of the top opponents in the state. Our strategy is to do what we do well and play the soccer that has brought us success all year,” shared Jonathan Winship, VHS soccer head coach. “This is our second year in a row earning a spot at state and I think it’s the experience we have playing in that moment and on that field will really help us on Saturday.”
The Vipers will take on the Mesquite Skeeters in the championship game. The game will take place in Georgetown at Birkelbach stadium Saturday, April 12 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets can be found on the UIL website or purchased at the stadium.
For those who are unable to make the game there will be a live stream on the NHFS network.
“We hope that all of Viper Nation will show up, support these boys, and help us win!”
