Travis County opens new evacuation route connecting Steiner Ranch and Montview Travis County hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new evacation route between Steiner Ranch and Montview, opening up another evacation route in case of an emergency. Local UT students bike to Alaska for cancer research Three University of Texas students and former Vandegrift grads are pedaling 4,000 miles over 70 days to reach Anchorage, Alaska. They left Austin on May 25 and have biked through Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and last week reached California as they head north.
