Steiner’s board talks security, Passes entrance landscape plans, Votes in two directors

Mike Jennings, captain of Travis County Constable’s Office Precinct 2, and Michael De Leon, senior deputy, spoke to Steiner Ranch homeowners on June 26 on ways they could help keep the community safer with added officers dedicated only to Steiner.

The Steiner Ranch Master Association board invited representatives from the Travis County Constable’s Office and a security company to the June 26 meeting to give updates on how to keep the community safer.

The board also passed a measure to spend up to $202,000 on front entrance improvements, voted in two new directors, and covered a lengthy discussion on pool contracts.

There was a brief discussion on the agenda item that focuses on third party management ideas or “professional onsite management services”. Board members expressed needing more time to discuss further and needing more details before they could vote on the measure. A meeting was scheduled for the board to meet in mid July.

Burglars hit two River Place homes

Steal car, laptops, wallet

Two homes in River Place were burglarized — a car, wallet, laptops, etc. were taken — at least one of the families was home sleeping at the time.

Reported on June 24 to Austin Police Department, one burglary was reported at 8:34 a.m. in the 10700 block of Sun Tree Cove and the other was reported around 10:29 a.m. in the 5800 block of Brittlyns Court.

“Our home was entered by two men,” said Marcy Keefe. “We were home and asleep. We got home at around midnight and the car was there.”

River Place teen is National Acteens panelist

Allison Agthe, an incoming senior at Hyde Park High School, is one of four student leaders in the nation selected to serve in 2018 as a National Acteens Panelist by the Women’s Missionary Union.

The River Place teen is the daughter of Scott and Debbie Agthe, and is a member of Austin Baptist Church.

Hill Country Bible breaks ground soon for Steiner campus

Hill Country Bible Church Steiner Ranch held Easter sunrise services at its 30-acre, hilltop site near the entrance of Steiner on April 1. Construction on the new $8 million HCBC Steiner church building is expected to begin this summer and wrap up by fall 2019.

Hill Country Bible Church will break ground soon on its new, 25,000-square-foot campus in Steiner Ranch, which it plans to open by fall 2019.

HCBC Steiner is hoping to get the site permit any day now and then break ground within the next 50 days at its 30-acre site near the 4300 block of North Quinlan Park Road. Construction will take place over 10 to 12 months after groundbreaking, and the church will cost around $8 million to build.
