New principal named of Four Points Middle School

Leander ISD Superintendent Dan Troxell, Ph.D., announced Steve Crawford as the principal of Four Points Middle School on Thursday, July 18.

“Steve is a dynamic, proven leader in our district,” Troxell said. “He brings a great deal of experience in best instructional practices and has demonstrated an ability to create a campus learning culture that sets and promotes high expectations of learning for all students and staff. He is a lifelong, effective, approachable communicator, and he has developed a superb track record of successful collaboration among teachers, staff, parents and community members.”

Route F may be out due to high cost

This near one-mile, $7.2 million road would connect Steiner Ranch’s Flat Top Ranch Road with RM 620. It is called route F and it was the preferred choice of Travis County engineers but according to
Brigid Shea, Travis County Commissioner Precinct Two, at the July 2 meeting, an alternate road will be recommended due to the high cost of this route. Source: Travis County

Brigid Shea, Travis County Commissioner Precinct Two, indicated in an email on Wednesday that route F — which was to be a $7.2 million, permanent road out of Steiner Ranch connecting Flat Top Ranch Road to RM 620 — is now not going to be the recommended evacuation route for the community.
