Thanksgiving feasts in Four Points

Students from schools all around the Four Points area enjoyed their annual Thanksgiving luncheon in the two weeks before Thanksgiving break. Parents came out in droves to dine with their students on the traditional meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin cake, all prepared by each school’s cafeteria staff in their largest meal service of the year. Grandview Hills Elementary’s Thanksgiving lunch even featured young students with their turkey hats.

The last time Vandegrift faced off against San Antonio Johnson, the Vipers won a hard-fought bi-district playoff game 27-26 at Monroe Stadium on Nov. 11, 2016.

Then-quarterback Alex Fernandes rushed for a team-high 105 yards and Isaiah Smallwood scored his first playoff touchdown to cap off a stellar debut season on varsity in which Smallwood rushed for 586 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the team as a sophomore.

Locally grown Five Stone Tax Advisers wins award

Family owned businesses are a source of pride for local communities and Five Stone Tax Advisers is no different. Founded and owned by husband and wife, John Paul (JP) and Kellyn Krueger, the company has grown and thrived since their beginning nearly a decade ago.

Back when they first opened in 2008, Five Stone had a smaller staff of seven employees and offered fewer services, mostly as tax resolution and tax preparation. Much like the inspiration for the Five Stone name, they prove that smaller does not mean ineffective. Alluding to the story of David and Goliath, the Krueger’s saw their services as being a small yet useful, much like the stones David used to overcome his great challenge. The company takes pride in working the same way, being thorough in their methods to help clients and do best for them.

LISD moves forward after voters approve $454.4 M bond

Leander ISD celebrated Veterans Day last week by welcoming America’s heroes to events, performances and learning engagements. It is important  for our students to learn about the sacrifices our nation’s veterans have made to serve this country.  

These men and women served to safeguard the freedoms we cherish, one of which is the right to cast a vote to direct our public entities, including LISD.
