Emergency-only route B in preliminary design phase

In July, Travis County commissioners voted to create route B as an emergency-only, evacuation route between Steiner Ranch and Montview. The project is now in the preliminary design phase. TRAVIS COUNTY

Travis County is in the preliminary design phase with the near-$1 million route B evacuation project which will run between the Steiner Ranch and Montview communities. Travis County Commissioners Court approved moving forward with the gated, emergency-only road on July 9.

Discourage vaping now, local doctor urges

On Aug. 30th, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a health advisory urging people to avoid e-cigarettes and other vaping devices. The CDC states there has been an outbreak of severe lung disease related to vaping resulting in severe illness and death in the US. The American Academy of Pediatrics joins the CDC in its efforts to get the word out and reminds parents that e-cigarette use is never safe for youth or young adults.

We don’t have time to wait for lawmakers and public health officials to regulate or investigate e-cigarettes. Kids will continue getting injured. They will continue to die as a result of vaping.

Q: How do high temperatures correlate with more water usage? Most irrigation systems are set at the same amount so in an average situation without a leak or wrong setting, the homeowner would use the same amount of water each time regardless of the high temps?
