Vandegrift band performs at Chicago’s 75th Midwest Clinic

The Vandegrift wind ensemble band traveled to Chicago last week to perform at the 75th annual Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference. Led by Mike Howard, VHS director of bands, Vandegrift’s performance took place on December 17. Concert repertoire included two world premiere pieces, “Caribana” by composer Omar Thomas, and “Let Me Be Frank with You” by composer John Mackey. Also For the first time in its history, the Midwest Clinic invited three schools from one district to perform in the same year. The other two Leander ISD schools were Leander High School and Stiles Middle School.
