Carjacking attempts spike in broad daylight

A neighbor’s video camera captured a silver-blue Volkswagen Passat involved in an alleged carjacking outside of Danielle Cotey’s home last month. An Austin Police Department spokesperson is warning citizens to pay attention to their surroundings at all times and to be cautious of suspicious persons. Austin officials say they’ll continue requiring masks in public — but it’s unclear how they’ll be able to enforce the rule; Other Texas cities don’t follow Austin’s lead
