Austin City Council approved a secondary access to the Vandegrift and Four Points Middle School campuses on April 11. Promulgated by Council Member Jimmy Flannigan, the new route is unlike any other proposal because it does not traverse the federal preserve land surrounding the schools; instead, the project will use existing roadways within the 3M campus, a site that was sold to World Class Capital in 2017 and will be fully vacated by the end of August.
