Palo Verde bringing shops, offices, eateries to Steiner & Quinlan

Clearing is taking place at an 8-acre commercial site at Steiner Ranch Boulevard and N. Quinlan Park Road. A two-story, 34,000-square-foot retail building is expected to be complete in 2020 bringing offices, eateries and shops.

“Signs went up this week,” said Wes Babb, senior vice president with Weitzman and a resident of River Place. He will be handling marketing and leasing for the development project. “We just literally started marketing.”

  1. Share how you and your wife, Krista, decided on the World Kitchen food truck in Four Points?

It has always been a dream of mine  to start my own restaurant. However, the financial risk was too much when you’re trying to also raise a family.  Then I started to research food trucks in Austin and ran some numbers. The risk is still there but much more affordable and it’s a great stage to test out your food ideas. Fortunately, I have a wonderful wife who supports most of my crazy ideas, and so here we are.

Comanche Trail fire drill March 2

The Comanche Trail Community Association will have a “wildfire drill” at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 2.

The Comanche Trail Community Association will be conducting a “wildfire drill” and residents will be going through a mock evacuation rain or shine at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 2.

“On the day of the drill, a message will go out that there is a wildfire drill and that (Comanche Trail residents) should prepare to evacuate,” said Will Boettner, fire education outreach coordinator with the Travis County Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Comanche Trail Community will be notified of the 1-hour drill through its internal communication system for CTCA residents. The system, similar to neighborhood social media site Nextdoor, shares community notifications of events such as house break-ins, accidents, and emergencies.
