Propane outages occurred last week
By LESLEE BASSMAN, Four Points News
Some propane customers in Four Points felt the sting of 18-degree air temperature recorded in the Austin area Jan. 17, as reported by the National Weather Service, and were without heat during the near record-setting cold snap.
Numerous Four Points-area propane providers—including nearby Sharp Propane, 4711 Doss Rd. and Absolute Propane, 15100 Debba Dr. — reported their Will Call customers were requesting emergency deliveries of the fuel.

The soccer season is fully underway, and the Lady Vipers finished last week with back-to-back wins over Plano West and Schertz Clemens to improve to 2-3-1 on the season.
The boys started their schedule with a series of losses in tournament play, going 1-6 in their first seven outings, with a 2-1 victory over Aldine Davis back on Jan. 5.
The Vipers dropped contests against Coppell (4-0) and Flower Mound Marcus (4-0) last weekend and will host Westwood on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Boat House Grill — one of Four Points’ oldest eateries — is closing on Sunday after 19 years of serving the local community.
“It’s been a long time coming. It’s heart-wrenching and freeing,” said owner Tracy Collins, who started the restaurant in Feb. 8, 1999 and built it from scratch at 6812 RM 620, at the heart of Four Points near RM 2222.
She turned the tiny burger and fish joint into offering much more with a staff of 15 employees, most who are full-time.
