More development coming to RM 620: Hotel, housing, retail, offices, dealership

Hyatt Place, Ash Creek Homes, Volvo set sights on Four Points area

The heart of Four Points along RM 620 will be changing significantly in the months ahead as new development comes in. A new Hyatt Place hotel is under construction next to CVS, and new homes and retail space are scheduled to be built close by. Additionally, a new Volvo dealership is slated to go in a few miles away at RM 620 North and Buckner Road.

Development plans are underway on three tracts of land along RM 620 between CVS pharmacy and Home Depot. The 95-room Hyatt Place hotel is under construction at 7300 N. RM 620 on a 6.6-acre tract. A retail and office complex is proposed for the 27-acre tract between the Hyatt site and Vista Parke Drive. Ash Creek Homes is to develop a residential and commercial project at 11601 Vista Parke Dr. on a 7-acre tract.

Ashlea Klam, a local Canyon Ridge Middle School student, is starring in the “Sage Alexander” TV series while balancing sports and academics.

Ashlea, an 8th grader, is currently working on a web TV series called “Sage Alexander” on TigerBeat TV. They have already shot the first six episodes in Plano,Tex, at the Dark Hour Haunted House.

“It was very cool and creepy at the same time,” she said. The new TV  series is a fantasy thriller based off a book series. There will be seven books in total, but only one and two are out currently. Viewers can watch the released chapters on TigerBeat TV on YouTube.

Local entrepreneur opens OsteoStrong in Steiner

After six startups, a local entrepreneur with an IT background is opening OsteoStrong, which specializes in building bone density and strengthening supporting muscles. Deepak Suthar opened the first Austin location a few weeks ago in Steiner Ranch at the intersection of Quinlan Park Road and RM 620.

“Each year, everyone experiences a steady loss of balance, bone density and muscle strength,” said Suthar, Steiner resident and owner of OsteoStrong Austin. “The amazing physical results we are able to deliver at OsteoStrong strengthen the musculoskeletal system.”

New TxDOT ferry named after local resident

Very few people can say that a boat is named in honor of them and Phil Wilson of River Place is one of those people.

The Texas Department of Transportation welcomed its newest ferry in its Port Aransas fleet with a public dedication of the Phil Wilson on Aug. 20.

“I was very honored and humbled by this recognition,” Wilson said. “TxDOT is respected worldwide and being able to lead it was something I will always treasure.”
