RP Limited District keeps trail policy as is

Kate Holloway addresses River Place’s Limited District board on Tuesday, July 23 evening as her husband, Charles Reynolds, looks on. Holloway and Reynolds live in River Place but outside of the boundaries of the neighborhood’s Limited District. Holloway headed up a board committee that surveyed non-Limited District residents as to whether or not they wanted to become a part of the District, incurring additional taxes but earning the right to use the trails and tennis courts reserved for District citizens. Interior design Vipers place top in nation

Connor Hathaway earned 1st place and Jenna Rigney earned 2nd place at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif. a month ago. The two are incoming Vandegrift seniors.

Two Vandegrift students grabbed top honors in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Interior Design category at the national conference recently. Connor Hathaway earned 1st place and Jenna Rigney earned 2nd place at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif. a month ago. 

“They love it and I love it. It’s really, really great and I feel really, really proud,” said Jodi Jacobsen, FCCLA advisor and VHS interior design teacher. Rigney will be in her practicum of interior design when school begins and Hathaway will be in Jacobsen’s interior design 2 class.

High speed, a curve in the road, and the RM 2222 construction zone were all factors in a motorcycle fatality that happened just after 11 p.m. on Monday, July 22 near the Shell gas station just east of RM 620.

Mother-daughter invite Mt.Kilimanjaro guide to visit Austin

Concrete safety barriers going in along RM 620 curves

Texas Department of Transportation plans to start putting in concrete barriers on July 28 in four strategic locations along RM 620 between Mansfield Dam and RM 2222. Map courtesy of TxDOT

Texas Department of Transportation is soon to start a half million dollar project along RM 620 as it will add concrete safety barriers in four curved areas of the roadway between Mansfield Dam and RM 2222.

The project is expected to start Sunday, July 28 and will cost $556,062.
